Samsung set to make more money from iPhone X than Galaxy S8

There are few debates fiercer than Samsung vs Apple, especially on the mobile phone front, but it turns out the devices might be more similar than you thought.

So similar, in fact, that Samsung may well end up making more profit from sales of the iPhone X than their very own Galaxy S8.

Weird, right?!

Well, according to The Wall Street Journal, the technology inside Apple’s latest, ground-breaking device is actually Samsung-made – and more profitable, clearly.

The iPhone X includes a NAND flash memory chip, DRAM chip and brand new OLED display all courtesy of Samsung, features which will set the tech giant up for a pretty penny if forecasts are to be believed.

The maths predicts an additional $4 billion profit for Samsung thanks to iPhone X sales, but to be honest, we’re just processing the fact that all our phones are pretty much the same.

And the similarities don’t end with handsets, especially after Samsung announced three new wearable products that Apple fans will probably find familiar.

As well as a sleek new smartwatch, Samsung recently unveiled an enhanced version of its GPS sports band and the second generation of its own wireless earbuds.

If Apple fans out there don’t care that there’s a little bit of Samsung in your iPhone, then you can head over to Carphone Warehouse, O2, Vodafone, EE or Three, where you can register your interest in the iPhone X ahead of pre-orders officially opening.
